Prof. Coplin, professor of public affairs and director of the Maxwell School’s Public Affairs Program, has published more than 110 books and articles in the fields of international relations, public policy, political risk analysis, social science education, and doing good.

His recent publications include Ten Things Employers Want You to Learn in College and 25 Ways to Make College Pay Off: Advice for Anxious Parents from a Professor Who’s Seen It All.

Coplin has received numerous awards for excellence in teaching, including a 1995 Chancellor’s Citation for Distinguished Service to Syracuse University, appointment as a Meredith Professor for Teaching Excellence, and the 2000-2001 Outstanding Faculty Advisor of the Year Award from SU’s College of Arts and Sciences.
