How is it Free?

The course is supported by a grant from the Council of Economic Education through funding from the United States Department of Education Office of Innovation and Improvement, and by Syracuse University Project Advance.

Expenses covered for teachers taking the course include tuition for the course, the textbook and related materials, and the hotel room during their residence at Syracuse University.  In addition, we will provide breakfast and lunch during the days of residence at Syracuse University.

Teachers interested in taking the course can apply using the online application.  To be eligible for the course, teachers need to have a New York State Teaching Certification in Secondary Social Studies Education, a full-time teaching contract, and must be teaching the Regents Economics course during the 2011-2012 academic year.  Applicants need to send a completed form, photocopies of transcripts from their previous college courses, and recommendation letters from their principal and their department chair.
