Course Structure

The course will involve three days in residence at Syracuse University during summer 2011 -- one day at the outset and two days at the end.  Between these residential experiences, the course will be conducted online with no residency requirement.

Tentative dates for the residency at Syracuse University are as follows – June 30, 2011 for the one-day residence at the beginning of the course and August 11-12 for the two-day residence that ends the course.

Teachers interested in taking the course can apply using the online application. To be eligible for the course, teachers must have a New York State Teaching Certification in Secondary Social Studies Education, a full-time teaching contract, and must be teaching the Regents Economics course during the 2011-2012 academic year. Applicants need to send a completed form, photocopies of transcripts from their previous college courses, and recommendation letters from their principal and their department chair.
