In addition to introductory psychology, Prof. Sutterer teaches an introductory research methods course.

Sutterer’s published research covers a broad range of basic behavioral processes, including classical conditioning of affect in humans, student behavior in self-paced courses, basic learning phenomena, and cardiovascular responses to stressful environments.

His recent research utilizes computer morphing to study perception of human facial expressions of emotions.
