Tuition is based on the number of credits designated for your courses. Your high school officials are notified of tuition charges well in advance of each academic year. If you are registering for a full-year, two-semester course—American history (6 credits), biology (8 credits), chemistry (8 credits), statistics (6 credits), or writing/English (6 credits)—tuition must be paid in full by the fall-semester payment due date.
The same is true for accounting, cybersecurity, forensics, French, Italian, Spanish, and calculus (MAT 295 and MAT 296), which are four-credit, yearlong courses.
College learning strategies, computer engineering, economics, information technology, object-oriented design, presentational speaking, psychology, public affairs, and sociology are all three-credit, one-semester courses that may be offered during the fall or spring semesters, depending on your high school’s schedule. Forensic science is a four-credit course that may be offered as a one-semester or yearlong course, depending on your high school’s schedule. The University requires payment for these courses at the beginning of the semester in which they are taken.
Once registrations have been received and processed, you will be billed for your student’s tuition at the address provided on the student’s registration. Project Advance must receive the tuition payment by the due date printed on the invoice. The first payment due date for the fall semester is October 15th and for the spring semester it is March 15th. Upon receipt you will need to decide if you will be paying the balance in full or selecting the option of a 3 month payment plan. The payment plan does include an additional $15.00 service charge so that monthly billing notices can be mailed to you. Syracuse University accepts checks, money orders, Visa, and MasterCard for tuition payments. If you have chosen to pay for your installment payment with a credit card you must notify us each month that you would like to pay that invoice with a credit card. We do not have the capability at this time to retain your financial information. Checks or money orders should be made payable to “Syracuse University” and should include the student’s name and high school in the note section of the check. Registering for a Syracuse University course incurs a financial obligation to the University. Failure to pay tuition will result in the student being placed on financial hold and students on financial hold will not be issued SU transcripts. If you receive an invoice and decide that you do not want the Syracuse University credit please verify on your registrar’s calendar if you still have time to drop the class without any financial liability. You then need to notify the instructor immediately of your decision so that a drop form can be processed. Syracuse University reserves the right to take appropriate actions to collect unpaid tuition, including the use of outside agencies.
