You must decide what forms of recognition you are seeking. After you decide the institution you will attend, review its catalog to identify all of the requirements for graduation. Then determine which of these requirements might be completely or partially fulfilled by the courses you have already taken. To receive any form of recognition you must request that a transcript from Syracuse University be sent to your college.
Request a transcript be sent to the university or college you are attending. You can request a transcript by mailing or faxing the transcript request form.
Compare your SU syllabus to the one from the course you wish to place out of;
If the topics covered in your Syracuse University syllabus are similar to the course you wish to place out of, then;
Speak to the professor of the course you wish to place into and, if necessary, your academic advisor and/or a department administrator.
Contact the instructor who taught the Syracuse University course in your high school;
If they are unable to assist you, email help@advance.syr.edu;
We can not guarantee that we will be able to retrieve the syllabus for you, but we will try as best we can.
Compare the course description for your SU course with the course descriptions of courses that fulfill the requirement on your campus;
If the Syracuse University course description closely matches the description of a course that meets the requirement on your campus, speak to your academic advisor, a department administrator, or academic dean.
E-mail help@advance.syr.edu. In your message include:
your name;
the school where you took your SU courses;
the course(s) for which you seek assistance in gaining recognition;
the type(s) of recognition you are seeking;
