Prof. London’s research focuses on the health, well-being, and care of stigmatized and vulnerable populations.

For the past several years, he has worked on two large-scale studies of the impact of welfare reform on poor women and their children.

London has contributed to numerous reports, book chapters, and journal articles. His areas of interest range from the health of poor urban women and women’s care arrangements, to the intersections of domestic violence and welfare reform.

Most recently, London has begun to investigate the social and health consequences of incarceration and military service over the life course, and how these vary by race.
