Registration Information
Students in this program are official SU non-matriculated (part-time) students, and they must register for the courses like any other college student. All official student records for Project Advance sections of the SU courses are maintained by the SU Registrar’s Office, which handles approximately 25,000 current student records and 200,000 alumni records for the University as a whole. Given the scope of the registrar’s operation, it is important that the registration of students enrolling in Project Advance sections be done accurately and in accordance with specified guidelines and procedures.
SU courses taught through Project Advance are normally restricted to high school seniors. Exceptions to this policy require prior approval from the appropriate SU Project Advance administrator and/or University faculty coordinator.
How Students Register for Classes
Students register for classes online by logging into our secure site at https://pass.supa.syr.edu using the sign on procedures received from their instructors or by viewing the instructions on our website http://supa.syr.edu. The students choose the course(s) they wish to register for then they print out the form so that their Parent/Guardian can sign the Intent to Register Form at the bottom. Students then bring the form to their instructor who will forward it on to Project Advance for processing. Students have a specific block of time to register online that is posted on the Registrar’s calendar. The Registrar’s calendar distributed to students outlines the critical dates within the registration process. It is also posted on our website. Critical dates include when the student may register for courses without penalty and the date when a student may drop a class without any financial obligation to the University.
Course offerings through Syracuse University include Accounting (4 credits), biology (8 credits), calculus (4 credits), chemistry (8 credits), cybersecurity (4 credits), forensic science (4 credits), French (4 credits), German (4 credits), history (6 credits), Italian (4 credits), Spanish (4 credits), statistics (6 credits), and writing/English (6 credits) are either year long or two-semester sequences.
