Marvin Druger

Druger, who joined the SU faculty in 1962, teaches general biology.He has developed the multi-method teaching approach, involving audiotapes, CDs, films, discussions, lectures, and laboratory.

While Druger’s research background is in evolutionary genetics, his current research interests are in science education. He is particularly interested in individualizing instruction and is author of the Individualized Biology Series, published by Kendall-Hunt. Other interests include teacher education and curriculum development.

Druger serves on several national advisory boards, is an active member of numerous science education associations, and is a former president of the Society for College Science Teachers, the Association for the Education of Teachers in Science, and the National Science Teachers Association.






Ernest Hemphill

Hemphill teaches microbiology, senior seminar, and genetics laboratory. He is a microbiologist interested in the regulation of gene expression in bacteriophages, and the role these viruses play in the evolution of bacteria. Hemphill has been teaching at SU since 1970.
